3 DAY TELLINGTON TTOUCH PUPPY WORKSHOP
3 Sessions, Sunday, 12:30 - 1:15pm
Dates: 5/29, 6/5 & 6/12
Instructor: Almudena Ortiz Cue M.A. CTC, CPDT-KA, Tellington TTouch Practioner
For puppies 3 - 5 months of age
Class limited to six puppies. Each puppy must have a guardian
Fee: $75 + tax (multiple family members are welcome to attend)
Start the life of your puppy on the right paw with the Tellington TTouch Puppy Class.
Puppyhood is a period of intense learning. What a dog learns at this stage could very well determine the dog's future behavior and overall confidence. The TTouch Puppy is an ideal class prior to a basic obedience class. It is NOT meant as a substitution for puppy socials, as most of the work will be done on leash.
Through a series of groundwork exercises, touches and body wraps, your puppy will learn:
* To feel comfortable and secure in a myriad of novel situations, including noises, stepping
on different surfaces, gentle restrain and grooming, etc.
* Self-control
* Confidence to explore new surroundings with curiosity instead of fear.
* To be calm in the presence of dogs and unfamiliar people.
* Improved focus and overall learning ability
* Increase trust in guardian.
Guardians will learn:
* About their pup's specific learning challenges
* How to encourage learning while building confidence.
* How to build trust and independence in their pup.
* How to work with their pup when difficult or scary situations arise in everyday life.
What to bring:
* Hungry Pup
* Small tasty treats
* A Kong with frozen food appropriate for your dog's size
* One 2" wide non-adhesive ACE bandage if your pup is under 15 lbs OR one 3" or 4" wide non-adhesive ACE bandage if your pup is over 15 lbs
* Mat or bed for your pup
* Flat collar, harness and a six-foot leash (no flexi-leashes or prong collars, please)
